Research Vessel to Lobster Yacht Tour Party Boat Conversion It’s been a long winter and spring getting the new and improved Plan Sea ready for the summer season. Originally a research vessel from from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, Captain Dave has spent the last six months completely retrofitting the vessel to be a luxury downeast lobster yacht. In addition to replacing and refurbishing the mechanical and safety systems on board, Captain Dave added teak-trimmed furniture including a beautiful wet bar, an ample storage area and seating for 22 passengers! The cabin, the pilot-house, the head (bathroom) have all been expertly remodeled with teak and mahogany trim and custom Sunbrella cushions outfit the cabin’s furniture. This family gave Dad a birthday gift of a Cape Cod to Martha’s Vineyard boat trip. First there was a quick cruise from Cape Cod to Oak Bluffs. The boat trip across Vineyard Sound took about 30 minutes. The family disembarked for a brief tour of the Camp Meeting cottages in Oak Bluffs. Edgartown was next after a scenic cruise down the North coast of Martha’s Vineyard. The family enjoyed some power-shopping and a delicious lunch at Among the Flowers. What a great way to spend your birthday.
